Has Red Bull’s dominance been curtailed by moving their cameras off the front wing? Has Vettel ever driven so badly? How fast are those Force Indias in low downforce configuration?

In this podcast, Gareth and I share our thoughts on the season so far. Gareth is away racing his motorbike for a couple of weeks now, so if you’d like to join me and share your thoughts after Monza, please comment below and let’s do it!

I’d like to focus on one of the rookie drivers, and present you with some facts:

1/ In 12 races he has been out qualified, sometimes comprehensively, by his even less experienced team mate.

2/ In 12 races he has been beaten by his team mate nine times, and one of those was a DNF for said team mate.

3/ Several times this season he’s held up a train of cars with some questionable defensive driving in the latter part of races.

4/ He’s managed to screw up at least a couple of hot laps for other drivers during qualifying.

5/ On several occasions he has been accused of almost causing accidents by cutting across other drivers trying to overtake him.

We’re at the half way point in the season, and it’s time for team principles and sponsors to make some decisions based on what’s happened so far.

Given the evidence above, it would seem extremely likely that the driver in question is going to be replaced, or at best moved into the role of test driver to gain some more experience.

Unless his name is Michael Schumacher.

Ferrari once again covered themselves in glory and cheated us all out of what could have been a fabulous race to the line between it’s two drivers. More important people than I have debated this long and hard since the race, with many falling on the side that banning team orders is unworkable.

Forgive me, but that’s irrelevant BS. I’ve been a formula one fan since I could barely walk. And every time I’ve seen team orders used, it’s left me feeling angry and upset – I don’t actually care whether it has “always been the same” or not.

It’s a flipping race!

Ferrari have abused my status as a fan once too often. I have been a huge supporter of the Scuderia in particular, of Alonso for his skill, of Rob Smedley for staying a grounded northern lad in F1, and of Massa for his fightback to fitness. In that one act they have alienated me, I’ve lost any respect for:

1/ The team. For not only taking the decision, but for being so blatant in their disregard for the rules.

2/ Fernando. For squealing like a stuck pig when he should have found a way around his team mate.

3/ Rob. For looking me (the camera) in the eye, and lying to me.

4/ Felipe. For not pulling the wires out of his helmet, or even telling the team what they could do with their orders.

There, I’ve got it off my chest!

I was impressed by Red Bull’s management skills at the British Grand Prix. They’ve finally realised that if they really p*ss Mark Webber off, he usually wins the race, and he did!

Very interesting result for our championship, and some high scores from lower down the table, but Vic continues to stretch his lead, and last year’s winner, Alex, is now making an impression.

Time to change some things, then! I’ll be posting soon about how you can change your team! The transfer window will be open until qualifying for the next Grand Prix, which is on 25th July, in Germany.

Yet another fascinating race, and I waited until today to post the results as there seemed to be so many protests going on.

It looks like the result will now stand, and Vettel’s great drive was overshadowed somewhat by Webber’s incredible crash, Hamilton’s performance in coming second despite a stop go penalty…….and a whinging Spaniard!

This has surely been one of the best seasons ever, and I can’t wait until the next one in Britain.

Yesterday’s GP has gone straight into my top five all time races. I was on the edge of my seat from the start to long after the finish!

Lewis managed to conserve his tyres to record his second win in a row and go top of the championship. But Jenson button never let him off the hook, and he has consistently proved me wrong this season, as I said publicly he would be blown away by his younger team mate. The hard to like Fernando Alonso proved he’s a class act, bringing his Ferrari home in third, while Massa in the other Ferrari made the car look like a donkey.

What a great race, and here’s what it means for our table:
